Esports and gaming creative marketing agency, Hurrah.agency, has officially ceased operations after a successful eight-year run. The closure comes as a surprise to many, given the agency’s prominent position in the industry.

The parent company, Hurrah.group, will also be winding down its activities later this year. However, there is a silver lining amidst the setback, as both the media buying arm, hurrah.media, and the production company, Hurrah.studio, will continue to operate independently.

Hurrah.agency: Financial Woes

The announcement of the closure was made via a heartfelt LinkedIn statement by Mathieu Lacrouts, the Global CEO of Hurrah.group. In his post, Lacrouts candidly revealed that financial challenges were the primary reason behind the agency’s decision to close its doors.

Hurrah.agency, a Prominent Esports Marketing Firm, Announces Sudden Closure

Hurrah.agency has left an indelible mark in the esports and gaming world, having worked with notable stakeholders ranging from esteemed game developers like Ubisoft, Riot Games, and Paradox Interactive to major non-endemic brands like Renault, Coca-Cola, and Domino’s.

Despite the agency’s closure, Mathieu Lacrouts will retain his roles in Hurrah’s other divisions. However, it remains uncertain whether these divisions will operate independently after the closure of the holding structure.

Esports Winter

The unfortunate closure of Hurrah.agency is just one of many recent casualties during the so-called ‘esports winter.‘ Alongside Hurrah, other industry players like Gfinity, Copenhagen Flames, and eUnited have also faced challenges during this difficult period.

Hurrah’s co-founder, Angela Natividad, a seasoned editor and strategist, had left the company back in January 2020, before the closure was announced.

In his closing statement, Lacrouts expressed his hesitance in sharing this disheartening news but emphasized the importance of transparency. He wanted to ensure that the countless people he had connected with over the past eight years knew about this significant chapter coming to an end.

As the esports and gaming community mourns the loss of a pioneering marketing agency, the industry will undoubtedly remember the remarkable contributions made by Hurrah.agency during its impactful existence.
