Swedish organization, Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to forge a partnership with Oceanus Media Global (OMG), a Singapore-based media agency.
Under the agreement, both companies have introduced the Immersive Esports Asia Convention (IEAC), an event aimed at bringing together developers, brands, players, and fans from around the world.
While specific details about the event are currently limited, the convention is set to offer a range of activities, including community tournaments, gaming showcases, exhibitions, product launches, and celebrity appearances. The location for the inaugural IEAC event has not yet been disclosed.
Sun Liwei, the President of Ninjas in Pyjamas, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with Oceanus Media Global and the unveiling of a long-term project, the IEAC. He stated that their joint efforts were focused on enhancing the esports ecosystem and providing fans with remarkable experiences.
Liwei emphasized that the IEAC would embody the passion and commitment of the gaming community, driven by the extensive heritage of esports. He expressed eagerness to showcase their upcoming offerings and what they have prepared for the audience.
Ninjas in Pyjamas, established in 2000, has actively sought to enhance its presence in Asia in recent months. In January of this year, the organization merged with Chinese group ESV5, subsequently joining the LPL, China’s premier League of Legends competition, by rebranding ESV5’s existing franchise Victory Five.
Oceanus Media Global specializes in immersive experiences and has an impressive track record. In 2020, it served as the official production agency for Razer‘s RazerCon, a 12-hour digital show. Additionally, OMG collaborated with the Global Esports Federation for the 2021 Global Esports Games, overseeing a captivating mixed-reality and augmented-reality opening ceremony.
