Riot Games has unveiled an exciting competition called Soul Fighter: Fight Night, aimed at celebrating their latest activation across the Runeterra titles.

Set to transpire in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California, the launch event will be streamed live on Twitch on July 17th, immersing viewers in an extraordinary broadcast experience.

Soul Fighter: Fight Night is an enthralling showcase that will feature 16 talented content creators as they embark on a series of captivating in-game and real-life challenges, all competing for the esteemed title of Fight Night Champion. While the names of the participating creators remain a mystery, anticipation builds for the revelation.

Riot Games Unveils Soul Fighter - Fight Night

This creator competition and its accompanying broadcast serve as integral components of Riot Games’ broader event, aptly named Soul Fighter. Paying homage to the beloved fighting game genre, this remarkable event spans an impressive six weeks, from July 20th to August 28th. During this period, League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, League of Legends: Wild Rift, and Legends of Runeterra will witness an influx of thrilling new content.

Fans anticipate the introduction of new game modes, skins, innovative gameplay features, and much more across all four of Riot Games’ esteemed Runeterra titles, as the company strives to delight and engage its dedicated fanbase.

Andrei van Roon, Head of League Studio at Riot Games, commented on the event: “We’re really excited for the range of different experiences across the League of Legends ecosystem that make up the Soul Fighter event. Arena, Soul Brawl, and Tag Duel will let players experience League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics and Wild Rift, respectively, in new ways that we think bring something really fresh to the table. We can’t wait to see what players think once they get their hands on them.”

The revelation of the Soul Fighter event arrives following a tumultuous start to the 2023 LCS Summer Split for Riot Games. The competition experienced a delay of two weeks due to a player walkout, facilitated by the league’s players association, the LCSPA.

As for Riot Games’ other impressive Runeterra titles, earlier this year, the publisher proudly announced the inaugural Teamfight Tactics (TFT) LAN tournament, slated to be held in the captivating city of Las Vegas, Nevada, in December.

Additionally, the highly anticipated Legends of Runeterra World Championship is set to return in 2023, accompanied by several structural enhancements, promising an exhilarating experience for players and spectators alike.

Furthermore, it is no secret that Riot Games has been working on the development of a fighting game, currently known as Project L, generating widespread excitement and anticipation within the gaming community.
