North American esports organization Ghost Gaming is hosting a Rocket League tournament aimed at raising awareness and funds to support adaptive gaming initiatives.

The tournament, known as the Adaptive Gaming Cup, is open to all 1v1 Rocket League players, regardless of whether they have a disability. Participants will have the opportunity to compete for a share of a $5,000 prize pool, which has been generously donated by esports tournament platform Repeat.gg.

A Tournament for a Cause

The timing of the Adaptive Gaming Cup is significant, as it coincides with Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month in the United States. Ghost Gaming is taking the lead in organizing this tournament, which seeks to provide support for services that cater to disabled individuals who are passionate about esports and gaming. Partnering with Ghost Gaming in this noble endeavor are esteemed organizations such as the United Spinal Association Atlanta, Sheperd Center, and Evolve.

As of now, a substantial number of players, totaling at least 3,400 individuals with varying skill levels, have registered for the tournament. In addition to these participants, Ghost Gaming’s own Rocket League roster will be joined by invited content creators, adding to the competition’s diversity.

According to Ghost Gaming, the main goal of the adapted Gaming Cup is to provide better connection for people with spinal cord injuries, allowing them to take part in esports competitions and engage in gaming activities using adapted gaming technology.

Ghost Gaming has previously supported players with disabilities. Through Make-A-Wish Georgia, the group will work with Skillshot Media in April 2023 to grant the wishes of kids with life-threatening diseases.

Additionally, Ghost Gaming keeps up its commitment to supporting amateur esports. They formed a collaboration with XP League in February 2023 with the aim of fostering the growth of young athletes in the Southeast.
