The World Poker Tour (WPT) is making a powerful statement against anti-gambling sentiments in Liechtenstein. Demonstrating its global influence, the World Poker Tour is organizing an exhilarating world poker tournament series at the Grand Casino Liechtenstein, firmly establishing its reputation and reach on the world stage. The event is set to kick off at the end of this month.

Situated between Switzerland and Austria, the European principality of Liechtenstein will serve as the backdrop for poker enthusiasts and professional players coming together for a captivating poker showdown. The World Poker Tour Prime Liechtenstein is scheduled to begin on August 30 and will run through September 11.

Earlier this year, a group opposing gambling, known as IG VolksMeinung, attempted to advocate for a ban on casinos in Liechtenstein. Their efforts to garner public support for the initiative fell flat.

World Poker Tour: Liechtenstein holds the big money

As is customary in poker tournaments, the Main Event is anticipated to be the highlight of the series. With an impressive CHF1 million (US$1.13 million) prize guarantee and a CHF1,100 (US$1,251) buy-in fee, the attraction is clear.

Commencing on September 6, the Main Event will offer six starting flights. Day 2 is scheduled for September 10, leading to the final table showdown on September 11.

The World Poker Tour is happening at Liechtenstein after its anti-gambling segment, showing that nothing can stop the growth of gambling.

Beyond the in-person satellites, participants also have the opportunity to win a tournament seat through online competitions. World Poker Tour Global is presenting a variety of satellite events, known as Passport Qualifiers, providing winners with the chance to participate in a live event of their choice.

With an affordable $110 buy-in, these online satellite events take place every Saturday and Sunday. The winners will receive a valuable buy-in package, which can be worth up to $1,500, contingent on the specific event and location.

WSOP Paradise

For US players unable to travel to Liechtenstein or those who prefer a closer destination, an enticing opportunity awaits later this year. The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has unveiled its WSOP Paradise schedule set in the Bahamas.

Taking place at Atlantis Paradise Island from December 3 to 14, the series is poised to become a regular feature in the WSOP lineup. A total of 15 bracelet events and over $50 million in guaranteed cash prizes are up for grabs.

Event buy-ins range from a modest $800 for the Flip & Go event, offering flexible prize pools, to a high-stakes $100,000 buy-in for the Ultra High Roller event. The latter boasts a guaranteed prize pool of $5 million.

The Main Event, requiring a $5,000 buy-in, guarantees a thrilling $15 million prize pool. The WSOP is hoping for favorable weather to avoid any prize pool shortfall. Additionally, the $25,000 High Rollers Championship boasts a $10 million guarantee, with numerous events offering guarantees of $1 million and $2 million.

The WSOP has partnered with GGPoker for this series, offering Main Event packages through its online poker platform. A total of 1,000 packages will be available, each providing 11 nights of accommodations, meal passes, and entry to the $5,000 Main Event.
