Krafton, the developer of PUBG, is currently hosting the PUBG Global Series 2 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which began on August 10th and is set to continue until August 20th.

This tournament showcases the prowess of the top 24 teams hailing from various corners of the globe. Among them, eight teams hold the distinction of being PUBG Global Partner Teams, while the remaining 16 teams earned their place by emerging victorious in regional qualifiers spanning the APAC, Americas, and EMEA regions.

The event comes with an impressive prize pool of $2 million, roughly equivalent to £1.56 million, and bestows valuable PGS points. These points hold the key to securing a coveted position in the PUBG Global Championship (PGC) 2023, the apex of global PUBG Esports competition.

PUBG Global Esports Domination

Among the trio of major PUBG esports events scheduled for this year—the PUBG Nations Cup and the PUBG Global Championship—PSG 2 occupies a significant slot. KRAFTON resurrected this series after a two-year hiatus, with the first tournament making its triumphant return in Malaysia last April.

Distributed across three groups, each composed of eight teams, these 24 participants are destined for either the winners’ bracket or the losers’ bracket. Over the span of August 13th and 14th, the victors of the winners’ bracket will compete, culminating in the selection of the eight strongest contenders to advance directly to the Grand Finals. Simultaneously, the defeated teams from the winners’ bracket will encounter the lower-ranked eight teams from the Group Stage to ascertain the remaining finalists.

Notably, PSG 2 signifies a landmark moment as the inaugural PUBG event governed by SUPER, the Competitive ruleset formulated by PUBG Corporation. This ruleset is set to establish itself as the universal standard for forthcoming competitions. This unification of rules is mirrored in both PUBG’s Ranked Mode and Esports Mode, where uniformity in settings, including available items, prevails.

PUBG Team Edition Skins

In line with the event’s enthusiasm, four out of the eight Global Partner Teams—Twisted Minds, Soniqs, Four Angry Men, and Gen.G—will showcase their exclusive Team Edition skins. Meanwhile, the remaining four teams had their unique items available for a limited duration during PGS 1.

These distinct skins will remain on sale within the game until August 30th, with 25% of the proceeds directed to the global partner teams.
